Enchanté! Welcome to Danel!
At Danel, we love the lavish French life and this is what our restaurant reflects. Surrounded by bulb lamps, mirror walls and the black-and-white tiled floor, for a moment you’ll think you’ve just stepped into a Parisian establishment.
Have a seat on one of our comfortable red couches, relax at our classy bar in the centre of the restaurant or, when the weather permits, sit down somewhere on our sunny terrace to enjoy the many classic and modern French dishes on the menu.
Whether you feel like having lunch, an extravagant dinner before a concert or a night out, or whether you simply want to sit down in a relaxed and informal environment to enjoy a good glass of wine and some bites – at Danel, you’re in charge. The menu consists of something for everyone. Beside several appetizers, main courses and desserts we have an extensive lunch and snacks menu.
Feeling curious? Make sure to make reservations for the chef’s table! From your seat you’ll have the best view of our chef Julio and his team preparing your food in our open kitchen.
Still hungry late at night after a concert or night out? Danel is the place to be! Monday to Thursday and on Sundays our kitchen is open until 22.00 and on Fridays and Saturdays until 23.00. When the weather is nice, we may let the kitchen stay open longer for you to enjoy a great summer evening on our terrace. Click here for opening hours. - Where does the name ‘Danel’ come from?
Often people ask us where the name ‘Danel’ is coming from. Our restaurant is named after Quatuor Danel, a famous French string quartet. Quatuor Danel regularly performs in TivoliVredenburg and is currently also ensemble in residence. Why ‘Danel’? Both French, cool and connected to music!
Want to hear Quatuor Danel perform? Keep an eye on the TivoliVredenburg agenda for future concerts!

Danel is located in the same building as TivoliVredenburg and sits on the Singel (city canal), at the intersection of the Vredenburgkade and Hollandse Toren. Because of construction work in the surrounding area, the best way to reach Danel is either on foot, by bicycle or with public transport.
Coming from the city centre? The best way to reach Danel is to walk towards TivoliVredenburg and turn the corner. Danel is located around the corner and on the Vredenburgkade, about 200 meters past café Het Gegeven Paard.
Have a look at our map for different walking routes to Danel.
When you come by car, the best place for parking is in one of the car parks in the city. An overview of all car parks in the city centre is found here.
